ACRO/GYMNASTICS

LET’S DO IT

Classes emphasize flexibility, balance, coordination and
muscle control. Skills include but are not limited to walkovers, limbers,
handsprings, chest rolls, cartwheels/round offs, tucks, and handstands. These classes are perfect for dancers looking to add acrobatic elements to their performances as well as gymnasts and cheerleaders looking to further their skills!

Hip Hop Dance Revere

HIP HOP

GET UP & MOVE

Hip hop evolved out of street and break dancing and is characterized by its athletic style. Hip Hop is danced primarily to Rap and R & B music, and is a great workout
that enhances creativity while performing cutting edge choreography.

CONTEMPORARY

TELL YOUR STORY

Contemporary dance is a newer dance style influenced by jazz, ballet, and modern techniques. It relies heavily on technique, but allows a greater freedom of expression than other dance styles. Classes focus on storytelling through movement in a way that most dancers find to be cathartic and challenging.

JAZZ

LET’S DO IT

Jazz dance develops strong, proper body alignment and strength needed to improve turning technique and to jump more efficiently and safely. This class will increase a student's vocabulary by introducing a variety of progressions across the floor and in the center. Jazz students gain a better understanding of their bodies and themselves as they learn to create expression in new and exciting ways.

TWIRL AND TUMBLE & TERRIFIC TWOS

GET CREATIVE

For ages 2-3 who like to move. Children will learn basic coordination exercises, ballet movement, and social skills for the dance classroom. This class is a great way to encourage children to be creative and develop motor skills while dancing to music they know and love!

HIP HOP FLIP FLOP

FOR AGES 4 AND 5

This class offers hip hop and gymnastics in an accessible way to children between the ages of 4 and 5. Children learn performances to music from their favorite singers and practice steps and early acrobatic elements that enhance coordination and encourage exercise in a fun and engaging way.

BALLET

RECOMMENDED FOR ALL STUDENTS

One of the oldest styles of dance, ballet has a long tradition of teaching children discipline and classroom etiquette in a productive and meaningful way. Students will focus on vocabulary, technique, stretching, barre, body placement, across the floor, turns, leaps and more.

TAP

MOVE YOUR FEET

Tap focuses on musical phrasing and the complexity of rhythms with less emphasis on the visual part and more on the challenge of "making melodies" with the feet. Most often, tap is danced to jazz based music such as Swing, Big Band, Bebop, Funk and Latin styles.

LYRICAL

CONNECT

A branch of jazz dancing, lyrical  maintains the percussive, rhythmic characteristics that define Jazz, but it incorporates elements of Ballet and Modern Dance to give it a smooth quality. Lyrical dance often has a focus on the interpretation of stories in music.

MUSICAL THEATRE

ACT AND DANCE

Musical Theatre class will focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with Broadway style jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions.

IMPROVISATION

A studio favorite, improvisation class allows dancers to develop artistry and move outside of the confines of set movement. Dancers explore solo, group, contact, and performance improvisation. Dancers collaborate with their teacher to create a score for an improvisational piece to be performed in our annual showcase.
